Transferring your domain to our platform consolidates your domain and hosting management in one place. The transfer process typically takes 5-7 days to complete.
Before You Begin
Make sure the following requirements are met:
- Your domain was registered or last transferred more than 60 days ago.
- The domain is not in a locked or suspended state.
- You have access to the administrative email address on file for the domain.
- You have the EPP (authorization) code from your current registrar.
- WHOIS privacy (if enabled) is temporarily disabled.
Step 1: Unlock Your Domain
Log in to your current domain registrar and disable the domain lock (also called "transfer lock" or "registrar lock"). This allows the domain to be transferred.
Step 2: Get the EPP/Auth Code
Request the EPP authorization code from your current registrar. This is a unique code that authorizes the transfer. It is usually available in your domain management panel, or you may need to contact their support.
Step 3: Initiate the Transfer
1. Log in to your client area.
2. Go to "Domains" and click "Transfer a Domain."
3. Enter your domain name and the EPP code.
4. Select a registration period (the transfer adds one year to your current expiration date).
5. Complete the checkout and payment.
Step 4: Approve the Transfer
After submitting the transfer order:
- You will receive an email at the domain's administrative contact address.
- Click the approval link in the email to authorize the transfer.
- Your current registrar may also send a confirmation email. Approve or do not reject it.
Step 5: Wait for Completion
The transfer process typically takes 5-7 days. Some registrars process transfers faster. You can check the status in your client area under "Domains."
Important Notes
- Your website will remain accessible during the transfer as long as DNS settings are not changed.
- Domain transfers add one year to your existing registration period.
- If the transfer fails, double-check that the domain is unlocked and the EPP code is correct.
